Enrico Deiaco is currently Director and Head of the Department, Innovation and Global Meeting Places (with offices in New Dehli, Brasilia, Washington, Tokyo, Beijing and Stockholm) at the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis – a government agency commissioned to conduct studies for the Swedish Government. Originally an economist by training at the University of Stockholm and with a higher degree in economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law, Gothenburg University. Previous positions have included: Research fellow at the Royal Institute of Technology. Executive Director, Swedish Institute for Studies in Education and Research (SISTER). Partner of Technopolis Group, a research consultancy. Secretary to the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and Acting Director of the Academy (1999-2001). Policy expert on research and innovation policy at the European Commission. Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN). Researcher at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) at the University of Stockholm. Current extra curriculum: Enrico is chairman of a research program funding innovation research at the Research Council of Norway. Affiliated Researcher at at the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. He has recently been editing a special issue on Universities Learning to Compete for the Cambridge Journal of Economics.
