Prof. Joseph Klafter has served as President of Tel Aviv University since 2009. Prior to that, he chaired the Israel Science Foundation from 2002 to 2009, and twice chaired the Department of Physical Chemistry at TAU. The incumbent of the Heineman Chair of Physical Chemistry, and currently a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he is the recipient of many prestigious prizes and honors, and has published nearly 400 scientific articles and edited 18 books
