Bundit Limschoon
Secretary General Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD)
Kuwait

Born in 1959, Mr Bundit Limschoon currently serves as the Secretary General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), overseeing the ACD Provisional Secretariat, based in Kuwait City, the State of Kuwait. Mr Limschoon is the first Secretary General of the ACD, an intergovernmental forum of 33 Member States across Asia. The forum, established in 2002, aims at promoting pan-Asian cooperation on 20 areas of cooperation in which Member States act as Prime Movers and Co-Prime Movers on issues, such as, energy, cultural cooperation, agriculture, and tourism. Following the historic ACD Summit in 2012, in Kuwait City, the aspiration to create the ACD Secretariat was set in motion, and eventually on the sidelines of the 65th United Nations General Assembly, the Foreign Ministers of ACD Member States resolved to appoint Mr Limschoon as the first Secretary General and to establish ACD Provisional Secretariat as the first step towards realisation of the shared aspiration of the ACD Member States. As a seasoned diplomat, Mr Limschoon most recently served as the Director of the Department of Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. He also previously served as Minister, Minister Councillor, and First Secretary at the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki, Mission of Thailand to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva, and Mission of Thailand to the United Nations (UN) in New York, respectively. In addition, he was elected as the President of the Berne Union for World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). Holding both LLM in Economic Law from King’s College, University of London, and MA in International Political Economy from University of Wisconsin Madison, he was also a grantee of the British Council’s scholarship under the Colombo Plan as well as King Bhumibhol Foundation Scholarship Award. So far, he has given lectures to graduate students at Chulalongkorn University, Siam University, and Bangkok University. Mr Limschoon is married and resides in Kuwait City.
