Suresh Neotia is a Commerce and Law graduate from Kolkata University. He joined the family business of trading and coal mining. In early 70s he co-promoted some cultural institutions in Kolkata like Padatik Culture Centre, Anamika Kala Sangam etc. In 80’s he was co-promoter of Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd and remained Chairman for 20 years and now he is Chairman Emeritus of Ambuja Cement and Chairman of Ambuja Cement Foundation. He served on many prestigious board and institutions as member or director including Central Board of RBI, IIM Ahmadabad, Asiatic Society, Victoria Memorial Trust, Aspen India, JNU, BHU and many others. Presently he is engaged with many family funded trusts and institutions – Neotia Foundation, Sri Govind Deo Ji Trust and most importantly Jnana Pravaha, a major institution engaged in preservation and dissemination of Indian Culture at Varanasi with a branch at Mumbai. He is also patron of CII-Suresh Neotia Centre for Excellence and Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS) and Bhagirathi Neotia Women and Child Care Centre. Presently, he is Trustee of Udayan Care, Apne Aap World Wide, Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust and India International Centre. Suresh Neotia was conferred with Padma Bhushan by Hon’ble President of India in year 2008
