Dr. Durval de Noronha Goyos is a member of the Brazilian and Portuguese Bars; admitted also in England and Wales as a solicitor. President of Noronha-Advogados (founded in 1978), Brazil’s global law firm, with sixteen offices worldwide. Dr. Noronha was an “ad-hoc” Brazilian government representative for the Uruguay Round of the GATT (1992–1993) and President of the Brazilian Bar’s commission on the GATT. Former arbitrator for the WTO and GATT. Arbitrator of CIETAC, in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Arbitrator of the South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SCIA). As a lawyer, Dr. Noronha advises sovereign governments and companies on matters of international law, trade, banking, finance and investments, and in litigation and arbitration. Member of the board of the School EPAZ, of the Candido Mendes University. Member of the board of the Centre of American Studies, Candido Mendes University. President of the board of Confucius Institute – UNESP. Author of 50 books on international trade law, international law and economics, including the best seller “Noronha Anglo-Portuguese dictionary” and “Arbitration in the World Trade Organization”. Former professor and coordinator of the international law post graduation programmes of EPD, São Paulo, Brazil and Candido Mendes University, in Rio de Janeiro.
